Eating raw foods is natural for humans. Cooking and processing food denatures the food and destroys the natural chemical composition of food. Fresh fruits and vegetables in their natural form are full of the vital components and enzymes that the body can best utilize.



The nutritional content of food is lost and altered when heated. Heat is the "destruction" element and therefore it is damaging to nature. Heating food also creates oxidized free radicals. This denaturing of the food is not the intended form for our bodies. The body's ability to use cooked food for energy is greatly inhibited and the result is unused food that sits and ferments in the intestines and creates a toxic environment within the body.


Raw food not only has higher concentrations of vitamins and minerals, but it also has enzymes, phytochemicals, electrons and other properties that work together in synchrony to facilitate the chemical reactions to create energy in the body. The stomach more alkalizes the food rather than digests the food and the ability of the body to absorb and assimilate nutrients requires less work when raw. This natural process is how the body conserves energy for more important vital tasks like cell repair, healing and increased energy needs from activity. Basically, the body runs more efficiently on food in its natural organic form than on cooked food which drains the body of energy.


The best thing you can do for your body is to start incorporating raw foods into your diet. You can easily start to add fresh fruit and salads into your daily meal plan. The more raw food you incorporate the better you will feel physically and emotionally. A clean body goes hand in hand with a clean mind. Once you feel better physically, the mind body connection will kick in and you will have an improved emotional and spiritual sense of well being. Eating raw foods is cleansing to the body and helps to detoxify it.


Since raw food is detoxifying and cleansing, a major benefit is you will have less body odors. In addition, your breath will be better with improved oral hygiene.
