Just Do Plants

What is Plant-Based?
A plant-based diet is a low calorie, high fiber and nutrient rich diet. It is centered around eating a variety of plant foods that are high in nutrition and fiber that help support optimal function of the body. A plant-based diet supports the natural design of the body.
Benefits of a Plant-Based Diet
Studies show that populations around the world that eat a Plant-Based diet have longer life spans and lower incidence of diseases.
Benefits include weight loss, improved cardiovascular function, and a stronger immune system.
It has been shown to be beneficial in prevention, improvement and sometimes reversal of many diseases including:
Obesity
Heart disease
Diabetes
Constipation and digestive problems
Osteoporosis
Auto-immune diseases
Cancer
A Plant-Based diet is also kind to animals and the planet. It does not include animal products and processed foods. Animal products are high in saturated fat and they contain no chlorophyll, fiber or phytonutrients. Processed foods are normally high in unhealthy fat, sugar and excess salt and have no nutritional value or life force energy like raw fruits and vegetables. Animal products and processed foods are also acid forming which contributes to acidity and inflammation within the body which can lead to an unhealthy disease state.
Foods to Eat
On a plant based diet, you will want to enjoy a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, potatoes, legumes, whole grains and healthy fats and oils. Eating a variety of foods helps supply the body with the nutrition it needs. Fruit and vegetables are high in fiber and nutrition and are alkaline by design compared to processed foods and animal products that lack fiber and are acidic and promote inflammation in the body.
On a plant-based diet, you do not need to count calories. You can eat until you feel satisfied. Since you will be giving your body the fiber, vitamins, minerals and nutrition your body needs, you will feel more satisfied and have less cravings. Plant foods are also high in water content and hydrate the body. Fresh fruits and vegetables are living foods and provide electrons, the life force energy, your body needs.
Foods to Avoid
All animal products; beef, pork, chicken, dairy, eggs, fish and processed food. Refined flours, sugar and oils such as soy, corn and canola oil.
In adopting a Plant-Based diet or lifestyle, some people may not be completely plant-based, but work towards increasing the amount of plants in their diet while reducing the amount of animal products and processed foods they consume.
Eating Plant-Based is easier than you think. It is far less restrictive than most other diets that leave you hungry. In fact, Plant-Based isn’t a “diet” at all, but rather it is a lifestyle of healthy eating habits.
